Why choose Murder Mittens?

Complete with some backstory!

Let's just get this out of the way: I have ADHD. I have started (including buying all supplies) and almost immediately put down SO MANY hobbies. Knitting, fly tying (yes, as in fly fishing lures), rock painting, friendship bracelets, streaming on Twitch...you get the idea.

I've always bitten/picked at my nails. A little over a year ago, they suddenly grew out, and OMG I HAVE NAILS! Enter my nail polish addiction. I found out about indie brands, monthly stores (e.g., Polish Pickup, Little Box of Horrors, etc.), then went a wee bit bonkers and soon had hundreds of bottles of nail polish. WAY more than I could ever use on myself.

Then I got the great idea of opening an Etsy store. I could share my love of sparkly nail polish with everyone! Queue an insane amount of research about how to make them, tools, tips, etc.

My desk when I started this adventure in July 2024:

Top: folding desk with boxes and random nail things on it. Bottom: A black tablecloth over the desk with racks of nail polish and supplies.

Midway setup:

A fairly clean desk with a few racks of nail polish and some tools

My desk now:

An extremely messy desk with over 4 racks of nail polish, polish bottles all over the desk, tools everywhere, with some almost finished projects

I wait well over 24 hours to let the polish dry completely before applying the UV-cured gel top coat. What that means for you: reusable press-on nails using amazing indie brand colors! 🥳

I've also gotten some gel colors to play around with. However, I feel like my niche is using indie polish brands with a gel top coat.
